LightSheer is the name of our Diode Laser, which is the best laser on the market for laser hair reduction. For the laser to target hair, the hair must have pigment, it will not work on white or grey hair. Laser hair reduction takes on average of 5 treatments but may require more. Although you may see a decrease in hairs after one treatment, you will not see the long-term hair reductions until after at least 4 treatments. We recommend a package of 5 treatments, and if you should need additional treatments after the package, they are discounted so you may achieve your goals. Our packages consist of 5 treatments, at least 4 weeks in between treatments. All package pricing can be discussed at your free consultation.

 

Prior to your evaluation/treatment: no waxing, tweezing, or depilatory creams for 4 weeks. You may shave or trim. In between your treatments; no waxing, tweezing, or depilatory creams. You may shave or trim. Shaving will not make you grow more hair. You should shave the area of the body prior to coming to your appointment. In the bikini area, shave it in the manner which you prefer. 

 

You should not be tan and preferably out of the sun 4 weeks before and during treatment. Our laser is able to treat skin that is tanned, but the settings must be adjusted, and therefore not as effective as on the non-tanned skin. Do not apply any creams or lotions to the area to be treated prior to your appointment. 

 

We do not treat pregnant or nursing mothers. 

 

You must be 18 years of age or older to begin LightSheer Treatments. 

 

If you have a history of fever blisters, please call your family doctor and ask for a prescription of Valtrex 500 mg to begin taking 2 times daily, the day before, the day of, and the day after treatment. We do not treat anyone with active herpes or shingles, or anyone experiencing rashes or skin irritation.

 

We will not treat any patient presently taking chemo or radiation therapy, or within 6 months of those treatments. 

 

We will not treat patients presently using Accutane, or within 6 months of use.
